Product Description

This product is a mixture of penicillin and streptomycin, hence it is called penicillin streptomycin mixture, also known as dual antibody. It is a commonly used antibiotic for preventing microbial contamination in vitro cell culture. The combination of penicillin and streptomycin can prevent most bacterial contamination. Penicillin can effectively inhibit Gram positive bacteria by interfering with the synthesis of bacterial cell walls. Streptomycin inhibits bacterial protein synthesis and proliferation by binding to the 30S subunit of bacterial ribosomes. It mainly acts on Gram negative bacteria and also has an effect on Gram positive bacteria.

This product contains 10000 U/mL penicillin and 10000 ug/mL streptomycin, and has been sterilized through 0.22 μ m filtration.
