Product Description
Doxycycline hydrochloride is a semi synthetic tetracycline antibiotic that can penetrate the cell membrane and bind to the 30S ribosomal subunit, interfere with tRNA/mRNA interactions, and ultimately inhibit protein synthesis. As a broad-spectrum antibiotic and antibacterial agent, this antibiotic has strong resistance to bacteria that cause respiratory infections, including Mycoplasma pneumoniae and Haemophilus influenzae. In addition, it can also treat infections caused by chlamydia, rickettsia, and certain spirochetes, and has antigenicity and deworming functions.
Oxytetracycline hydrochloride is also an inhibitor of various matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), including MMP-8 (neutrophil collagen; IC50=30 µ M) and MMP-1 (interstitial collagen; IC50=300 µ M). According to research reports, it can significantly reduce the expression level and activity of MMP-9 in recurrent corneal erosion studies. In smooth muscle research, it can enhance and promote smooth muscle cell adhesion, alter fibrous collagen matrix reorganization and cell migration. It can also inhibit the inflammatory response caused by Lyme Disease and interfere with the plasminogen system to provide microvascular protection.
Oxytetracycline hydrochloride is also commonly used in Tet on (rtTA dependent) and Tet off (tTA dependent) systems to regulate gene expression, and is suitable for both in vivo and in vitro cell culture. The solubility of this product in water is about 50mg/ml. Moderate heating is recommended to promote complete dissolution; According to literature reports, it can also be dissolved in DMSO (~1 mg/mL) and methanol, but insoluble in chloroform and ether.
