Eosin is the most commonly used cytoplasmic staining. In 1885, List was dyed with it. It can be used in combination with basic blue dyes, and when used in combination with hematoxylin, it is called "H&E" dye solution. Eosin is an acid staining solution that can interact with proteins rich in alkaline amino acids inside cells. The dye protein complex is characterized by staining with pink cytoplasm.

Transportation and storage
Transport at room temperature. Store at room temperature and avoid light, with a shelf life of 12 months.
Usage
1. Freeze section dewaxing and fixation:
2. Hematoxylin staining;
3. Rinse with tap water;
If using regression hematoxylin staining solution for staining, differentiation must be carried out and rinsed with tap water;
5. Use alkaline solution or Scott's Tap Water Substitute for blueing:
6. Rinse with tap water:
7. Rinse the slide with 95% ethanol for 30 seconds;
8. Yvonne dye solution (alcohol soluble) for counterstaining (30s~3min);
9. Dehydration, transparency, and sealing.
Staining result: Cytoplasmic staining is pink to red. The nucleus is stained blue to blue black, depending on the hematoxylin staining solution used.
