The Quick Cell Luminescence Method Mycoplasma Detection Kit detects the specific enzyme activity of Mycoplasma to determine whether mammalian cells cultured in vitro are contaminated with Mycoplasma.
After mycoplasma lysis, the mycoplasma specific enzyme has the function of converting ADP into ATP in the presence of a substrate. Due to the involvement of ATP in the reaction of Luciferase catalyzing the substrate Luciferin to produce light, the ATP content produced by mycoplasma specific enzyme catalysis can be converted into a bioluminescence signal through this reaction. This signal can be detected using a specialized luminescence detector (Luminometer) or a multifunctional enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) with luminescence detection function, and the intensity of luminescence is proportional to the ATP content. By comparing the content of mycoplasma specific enzymes in the supernatant of cell culture and the supernatant of culture medium not used for cell culture, it can be determined whether the cultured cells are contaminated with mycoplasma. The reaction principle is as follows:
Product components | Specifications |
Mycoplasma detection solution | 5.5 mL |
Reagent A (freeze-dried) | 2.5 mL(50 tests) |
Reagent B (freeze-dried) | 2.5 mL(50 tests) |
