Product Description
A significant characteristic of cell apoptosis is the degradation of chromosomal DNA, which is a common phenomenon. This degradation is very specific and regular, and the resulting DNA fragments of different lengths are about 180 bp-200 bp integer multiples, which is shown by the unique ladder pattern in the agarose gel electrophoresis. This kit adopts the TUNEL method, and uses Terminal Deoxyribonucleotide Transfer (TdT) to catalyze the incorporation of EZ 555 dUTP into the 3 ´ - OH end of apoptotic cell broken DNA. The DNA labeled with EZ 555-dUTP can be directly observed using fluorescence microscopy or quantified using flow cytometry. The TUNEL method can selectively detect apoptotic cells, rather than necrotic cells or cells with DNA strand breaks caused by irradiation and drug therapy. In the TUNEL experiment, TdT enzyme catalyzes the incorporation of dUTP into the 3 '- OH end of broken DNA strands. Antigen labeled dUTP (such as digoxin dUTP, biotin dUTP) is a faster and more direct detection method because it can be directly detected in situ.
