Product Description
Bovine serum albumin, also known as Bovine albumin or Cohn Fraction V, abbreviated as BSA. BSA is not only widely used in laboratory applications, but also commonly used as a blocking agent in immunological experiments, including ELISA and Western Blot (WB). As carrier proteins, cross-linking them with haptens and other weak antigens can enhance their immunogenicity in antibody production. In restriction enzyme digestion reactions, BSA is often used as a reaction stabilizer for some enzymes and can prevent it from adhering to the tube wall and gun head. BSA is also commonly used in the production process of biopharmaceuticals or as a nutrient for cell and microbial culture. In addition, it is also used as a standard for protein quantification detection. The BSA products we provide are prepared using high-quality bovine plasma and an improved heat shock method to inactivate proteases. Lipids and other plasma proteins are removed through non solvent treatment.
This product is Fatty Acid Free BSA, which contains very low levels of fatty acids (0.02%), almost negligible, and easily soluble. Commonly used as carrier proteins for trace elements, fatty acids, hormones, and growth factors, added to serum-free culture systems. This product allows the addition of certain specific fatty acids to BSA to promote cell growth. Suitable for hormone or cholesterol analysis and testing to avoid interference from lipids or fatty acids. The total fatty acid content in each batch of products is ≤ 0.02%.[Note]: The fatty acid content of this product is lower than that of Sigma's similar product A8806, and the albumin content is three percentage points higher, reaching 99%, but the price is only 20% of it.
