Product Description
GelRed was originally developed by Biotium Corporation in the United States. It is a unique designed fluorescent dye combined with all dsDNA double helix groove areas. The fluorescence signal intensity is related to the number of double stranded DNA, and has the same spectral characteristics as ethidium bromide (EB). It can be observed by using the ordinary ultraviolet gel transmission instrument to observe EB. The dyed DNA band shows red fluorescence under ultraviolet transmission. This new type of dye has advantages such as inability to penetrate cell membranes, strong binding with double stranded DNA, low genetic mutagenicity, high thermal stability, no inhibitory effect on commonly used enzymes in molecular biology, and a wide range of applications. It has been widely recognized in the market. This product is suitable for dsDNA, ssDNA and RNA staining in agarose and polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis.
Product advantages
Safe and non-toxic, anthocyanins (oily macromolecules with a molecular weight of 1400) are used as raw materials, which cannot penetrate the cell membrane and are much larger than EB with a molecular weight of 690;
