Product Description

Gentamicin sulfate salt is a broad-spectrum aminoglycoside antibiotic that has good antibacterial activity against a large number of gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria, including some beta lactam sensitive vancomycin resistant (VRE) enterococci and some "superbugs" resistant to glycopeptide antibiotics. Its antibacterial mechanism lies in the codon error caused by binding to the 30S subunit of bacterial ribosomes, blocking the transport of peptidyl tRNA from the A site to the P site, thereby inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis.

Gentamicin sulfate is widely used in laboratories: (1) microbiological research, commonly used for screening sensitive bacteria in drug sensitivity experiments; (2) Inhibition of bacterial contamination in cell culture, with an effective concentration of 0.5-50 µ g/mL; (3) Molecular biology research is commonly used to selectively screen positive clones carrying the gentamicin resistance gene, with a concentration of 15 µ g/ml.
