Product Description
TBE is a common nucleic acid electrophoresis buffer in biology, which is mainly used for agarose gel electrophoresis and PAGE gel electrophoresis of DNA. TBE has strong buffering capacity and is more effective in separating fragments smaller than 1 kb for electrophoresis. It is also suitable for longer electrophoresis periods. When TBE is used in agarose gel, it is easy to cause high electroosmosis, and the recovery rate of DNA fragments is reduced due to the formation of non covalently bound tetrahydroxyborate complexes by interaction with agarose. Therefore, it is not recommended for the recovery of DNA fragments. When the resolution requirement is not high, both TAE and TBE can be used; When the resolution requirement is high, a lower concentration of gel is beneficial for improving the resolution of high molecular weight nucleic acids, and TAE should be used at this time; A higher concentration of gel is beneficial for improving the resolution of small molecular weight nucleic acids, and TBE should be used at this time.
The main components of TBE are Tris, boric acid, and EDTA. The concentration of Tris, boric acid, and EDTA in 1 × TBE buffer is 89 mM, 89 mM, and 2 mM, respectively.

Transportation and storage

usage method
1. Take about 600 mL of distilled water and add it to a beaker, then place a magnetic stirrer in the beaker.
2. Place the beaker on a magnetic stirrer and slowly add the entire contents of 1 bag of TBE powder, stirring the solution until completely dissolved.
3. Add distilled water to the TBE solution in step 2 and make up to 1 L, which is 1 ×. [Note]: If the concentration of TBE working solution is 5 ×, in this case, 1 × of the working solution can be diluted before use.
