Product Description
Cy5.5 NHS ester is a near-infrared dye commonly used for in vivo imaging of small animals, in addition to labeling peptides, proteins, and oligonucleotide amino groups. Because it avoids the visible light region that many substances absorb, the absorbed near-infrared light penetrates deeper into biological tissues, and the excited fluorescence is less affected by the background of biological tissues, so it can generate signals in deep tissues. Especially in the range of 700-900 nm, the absorption of water and hemoglobin is minimal, and near-infrared light can penetrate up to 15 cm deep into tissues. At the same time, these dyes also have biological safety that UV dyes and isotope labeling cannot possess. Cyanine 5.5 (cy 5.5) is the most commonly used near-infrared fluorescent dye.
Cyanine 5.5 NHS ester requires a cosolvent, but due to its weaker hydrophobicity than Cyanine 7, it is more widely used. Li Ji Biotech provides cyanide 5.5 NHS ester in potassium salt form, which is the same as GE. NHS ester is often used to label amine groups in biomolecules.
Cyanine 5.5 NHS ester has broad-spectrum properties similar to Alexa Fluor 680 NHS ester and DyLight 680 NHS ester, and can be used as a substitute.
